HOW WE HELP YOU GET RECRUITED

Recruiting is its own sport. We coach you through it the same way we coach you on the court — with real reps, real support, and a plan for every age group.

%

Hudl Film for Every Athlete

Every NSSC player gets a Hudl account. Game film, highlight reels, and shareable clips are built-in — not an extra you have to buy.
4

Coach-to-Coach Connections

Our staff has spent two decades building relationships with college coaches across the Midwest. When you’re ready to be seen, we know who to call.

Exposure Tournaments That Matter

From qualifiers to regionals, our Nike and Regional-level teams travel where the recruiters travel. Be in the gym where commits get made.

Profile & Email Help

We help athletes build a recruiting profile, write the first email to a coach, and put together a highlight reel that actually gets opened.

year by year

YOUR RECRUITING TIMELINE

NCAA rules matter. So does timing. Here’s exactly what to focus on — and what NOT to stress about — at every grade level.

8TH GRADE & EARLIER
Fall in love with the game. Train, attend NSSC camps and clinics, and get your reps. Focus on fundamentals, footwork, and being a great teammate. It’s too early to talk to college coaches — but not too early to build the work ethic that lands you there.
FRESHMAN YEAR (9TH GRADE)

Per NCAA Division I rules, coaches can’t have recruiting conversations with you yet. What you can do: attend college camps as a player, follow programs you like on social, and start tracking your stats and academics. Keep a folder of game film. Start a sharable Hudl highlight reel, YouTube Channel, and sign up for a University Athlete account.

Per NCAA rules, June 15 after sophomore year is when D1 coaches can first contact most volleyball recruits — so freshman year is for prep, not pitch.

SOPHOMORE YEAR (10TH GRADE)
Build a basic recruiting profile (NCSA, SportsRecruits, or a simple one-pager). Update your highlight reel after every tournament. Start a coach contact spreadsheet — schools you’re interested in, head coach name, email. Talk to your NSSC coach about a target list of realistic schools across D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO.
JUNIOR YEAR (11TH GRADE)
This is the year. June 15 after sophomore year opens D1 contact. Email coaches at your target schools with your profile and a short, fresh highlight reel. Attend ID camps at programs you actually want to play for. Visit campuses unofficially. Get academically locked in — register for the NCAA Eligibility Center.
SENIOR YEAR (12TH GRADE)
Take official visits. Narrow your list. Compare offers — not just scholarship dollars but coaching staff, roster fit, academics, and culture. Sign your NLI in the appropriate signing period. Tell us when you commit so we can celebrate you on our wall.

NCAA rules cited above apply to D1 volleyball; D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO rules differ. Always verify current rules at NCAA.org.
