On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Cape Girardeau was buzzing with energy, excitement, and fierce determination as the NSSC Volleyball Club hosted its Girls 15U–18U Tryouts for the 2025-26 season.
And what a day it was.

💥 172 Athletes Showed Up. Every One Gave It Their All.
We welcomed 172 remarkable volleyball athletes to the courts—each one bringing their heart, hustle, and drive. Tryouts are never easy for players or coaches, but this group made an impression.
From powerful serves to court vision, communication, and chemistry, the talent on display reminded us why we do what we do.
“We saw potential, passion, and progress on every court,” said NSSC Club Director, Carl Ritter. “The decisions were tough, but we’re incredibly proud of the effort we witnessed.”
🌎 Athletes Traveled From Near and Far
Perhaps one of the most inspiring aspects of the day was the distance families were willing to drive just to try out for NSSC Volleyball Club.
We had players making the trip from towns up to 1.5 to 2 hours away, showing just how respected and sought-after the NSSC program has become—not just here in Cape, but throughout Southeast Missouri and beyond.
We’re tremendously grateful for the families who made the commitment to travel, attend, and show up ready for the challenge. The support and belief in our club continues to humble us.
🏐 14 Competitive Teams Taking the Court This Season
With the level of talent we saw and the size of our tryouts, we are excited to be building 14 competitive teams across the 15U–18U levels for the upcoming 2025–2026 girls’ season.
As Southeast Missouri’s largest club volleyball program, we believe in offering real opportunities to grow—not cutting kids down. Our mission is clear:
